Mark Reynier grew up in the wine business in London. On a chance cycling holiday in Islay, he stopped at the locked gates of Bruichladdich Distillery and wondered ‘What if….’, to himself.

So started Mark’s fascination in what flavours could be achieved through barley, after purchasing Bruichladdich a few months later.

After Bruichladdich was sold, Mark moved his sights to the south east of Ireland and founded Waterford Distillery.

Waterford and Mark have pursued barley excellence through supporting Irish farmers to grow the best barley they can achieve, be it biodynamically, organically or by propagating lost, heritage grains.

Mark has shied away from fans tasting mature single casks from Waterford……..until now.
