About The Wine Tasting

Mike & Katrin McDonnell run The Wine Buff stores in Cork city. Their combined knowledge and experience of artisan wine is exeeded by few.

In the cosy setting of the loft of Old Brennan’s wine bar, Oliver Plunkett St, Mike & Katrin will bring attendees on a journey through these exceptional wines.

These wines are produced using local yeasts at higher altitudes, to create exceptional flavours. Taste a selection of five wonderful wines (2 white & 3 red) made from grape varieties that have been revived and used again by winemakers, such as Bobal & Mencia. From grapes grown in high altitude vineyards from the Douro Valley in Portugal, the Beira Interior in Spain and the Weinviertel in Austria.

No lectures or lofty tasting notes — just great wine, tasty charcuterie, and plenty of friendly conversation.
