Vintage Irish Bottle Tasting

49.00

This will be a cracker! In the cosy setting of the iconic Shelbourne Bar, in the heart of MacCurtain St, we will reach back into the archives of Irish whiskey and open some relics of Irish Whiskey’s past.

Kilkenny native and renowned whiskey oracle, Chris Hennessy, will deliver this high end masterclass, delving into the sometimes confusing history of these releases and piecing together the true origin and story behind these amazing bottles.

This tasting is not just for the seasoned afficianado, this is where you will elevate your whiskey knowledge and taste the whiskeys of your grandfathers.

Whiskeys on the day:

  • 1980 Gilbey’s Redbreast 12yr old Single Pot Still Whiskey
  • 1980’s Powers Gold Label Blended Whiskey
  • 1970’s Hewitt’s Whiskey – a rare blend of lightly peated Midleton malt, Bushmills malt & Watercouse Distillery Single Grain Whiskey
  • 1970’s Tullamore Dew 8yr old Blend from the Old John’s Lane Distillery in Dublin
